I have very few card collections given my limited resources and space, but I did decide some time ago to begin collecting on-card Royals autographs. It’s been a blast so far trying to track these things down and this is the latest addition to my collection. To view the cards currently in the collection, take a look at the Gallery or the other posts in this series. I’m working on getting a legit want list together on my trade page but, in the meantime, if you have any on-card Royals autos that it looks like I don’t have, don’t hesitate to drop me a line!
These cards look great. I wish there were more Royals in it for me to get. The 2007 Goudey Brian Bannister I have is awesome too. I wish Upper Deck still made cards like this instead of unlicensed weirdness.
I also wish Billy signed this bigger. You know, like he did on his much uglier 2006 Bowman Originals. Sheesh, it’s tiny here! I wonder if anyone’s had Griffey sign the tony little picture on someone else’s card for lack of a suitable Griffey card to sign. That’d be hilarious.
Billy is still kicking around the Rockies’ minor league system, having a not great year at AAA so far. A 1.7 WHIP is pretty damning, but it’s not as if all hope is lost. He’s still starting games and, at age 27, is only just treading into “failed prospect” territory. I feel bad using phrases like that, but there’s not a good way to say that someone isn’t living up to their athletic potential. There are a lot of factors to it, I know and I’m not knocking the guy when I say it. Hopefully someone understands the dilemma here.
But anyway. Cool autos. Goudey.
Those autos do look nice!
