It took much longer than it ever should have, but Community Gum has now reached the 500 post milestone. It’s a momentous occasion that’s sure to go down in the annals of card bloggery as “another blog post.” Try not to get too teary-eyed. Yes, 500 posts. If this were the Hall of Fame, our [...] It doesn’t happen too often, but occasionally bloggers will get cards out of the blue. Typically we’re not those guys. There’s usually a reason for us receiving something from somebody. And speaking just for myself, I’m fine with that. I get so wrapped up in the various aspects of my life that I can’t spend [...] There hasn’t been much movement on this blog for a while. I don’t like to see it sit and languish like this, but sometimes you have no other choice. I could go through all the reasons why the posts each week have been slim-to-none, but why bore you with the same old stuff. You people [...] I think by now you guys have figured out I’m a fan of large group breaks. I love variety. I love value. I love cards, and I love seeing or opening things that would otherwise go unseen or unopened. (What’s that you say? I have an 11 box Topps group break currently taking sign-ups? Why, [...] I think I’m getting closer to conducting another group break here on the blog. It’s been a while since we’ve done anything interactive and things are slowing down enough for me where I can handle the spurts of work that goes into such a thing. In the meantime, I’m back with the results of a [...] If you’re wondering why I haven’t posted in a week, maybe what you’re about to see will explain it. You’re going to be treated to a very short introduction this time, because I’m writing 3,000 words or so overall on this doozy of a trade. Things like this take time you know. The cards below [...] How well I’m doing my job is based on one metric above all else: time. To stay “current” I have to keep the workflow within two weeks of today’s date. Everything else should fall into place from there. If I get the work processed in a timely manner, the cycle continues, and money comes through [...] All that talk… All that talk yesterday about taking my blogging seriously and I committed an error. Well, if you go back and proof-read it, I’m sure you’ll find several, but that’s not what what I’m talking about. It’s an error that could easily go unnoticed by everyone else in the world but me.
