Recent Royals: 1996 Leaf Signature Joe Vitello Bronze

I have very few card collections given my limited resources and space, but I did decide some time ago to begin collecting on-card Royals autographs. It’s been a blast so far trying to track these things down and this is the latest addition to my collection. To view the cards currently in the collection, take a look at the Gallery or the other posts in this series. I’m working on getting a legit want list together on my trade page but, in the meantime, if you have any on-card Royals autos that it looks like I don’t have, don’t hesitate to drop me a line!

Little Joey Joe!

You know, for a guy who played in the majors for 7 years, I sure as spit had never heard of this guy.

You know, for a guy who played in the majors for 7 years as a designated hitter, this guy sure didn’t hit very well.

You know, for a guy who struggled in his first 6 seasons in the majors and finally had a pretty decent year off the bench for Montreal in 2003 after toiling in Japan and in the minors for the previous two seasons, this guy sure did rake in the minors in 2004.

You know, for a guy who tore up the minors for the Tigers AAA team in 2004, this guy sure is out of baseball.

You know, I guess the bottom line is that, for a guy drafted 7th overall by the Royals (over Manny Ramirez, Cliff Floyd and Shawn Green), this guy sure didn’t pan out like they hoped.

I’m trying to incorporate a “Whaddaya know, Joe?” into this outro, but I can’t seem to swing it.
