2008 Bowman Chrome Video Box Break #2

On a recent trip to the OCS (Online Card Shop) to get some boxes for Jon’s forthcoming Community Break, I grabbed our second box of 2008 Bowman Chrome. Jon and I busted one of these a while back and Jon even tracked out prospects’ progress at the end of the season. In that first box, we hit one of the better base autos in the Braves’ Jordan Schafer. We sold that card for about $15 and were pretty stoked about that, even though it left us like $30 in the hole on the box. It seems to me that only the super mega case breakers can get anything better than a 30% return on this stuff- no one buy the singles, no one cares about any of the veterans, and anything less than a blue refractor might as well be recycled into lawn chairs or whatever you can make using plasticized cardboard. Plus, I kind of hate Bowman Chrome and everything it stands for and I should probably be putting my money where my mouth is, but the price was right and there are a couple of Royals autos in this set so why not try and pull one? “Because that makes you a hypocrite and a fraud?” you say? I say quiet, you!

And, for those less video-inclined, here’s a sample of the goods:

Shine on, shiny!

Once again you can see that I dodge the “total dud” bullet, but thoughts of recouping any investment in this or any Bowman product are just plain delusional. I was glad to pull some Cub color and a 2nd year refractor of Mr. Tim Lincecum ain’t too shabby! And Aaron Cunningham is in the majors, following up his career best year. With this product, there’s about a 0.12% chance of that so I guess I beat the odds. Everything in the break is for trade, so hit me up if you see anything you like!
